# Rendering JavaScript There are certain websites that require enabling JavaScript in order to render essential page elements. In these situations, a simple cURL command is not sufficient to extract HTML data from the website in question. By passing the `render_js` parameter to your request, you will enable BrowserAPI's capability of accessing the targeted web page using a headless browser which allows JavaScript page elements to render before delivering the final scraping result back to you. To enable JavaScript rendering, simply append the `render_js` HTTP GET parameter to your API request URL and set it to `1`. > By default, this parameter is set to `1` (enabled).
